You're back! Hurrah!
I'm a lurker, for the most part, but I'm sensing the need for feedback, so here we go.
Will and Iris is among my favorite things. In the world. Of all time. Really, like top five. Peanut butter beats you, but then peanut butter beats everything. I'm an addict (now loving Trader Joe's organic creamy, but raised on Jif).
Thank you for your podcasts. I talk so much about you that my friends are all familiar with the name, if not your podcast. I have the problem generally of not being able to infect my friends with my favorite things, but that just speaks to the diversity of my friends, right? Years from no (if you stick around) they'll subscribe and finally appreciate the genius. For the record, I've saved every episode since #1 (2005). I'll replaying old ones if I have to, but please keep going.
Anyway, never doubt that there are people out there who don't comment often, but do love your podcast.
And, Iris, there's no substitute for your insight and your rants. I love everything about your podcast, but the balance between politics, current events (in your life, especially kid talk), and good music is what makes things great.
Will, I actually tend toward your music picks over Jason's, but I love the podcasts with the two of you discussing. Jason saying he thinks "..." is too funny. Your best-of-the-year podcasts have given me a lot to look for.
Move to Columbus, Ohio. We'll be great friends and I'll get Will tickets to small (550ish) shows with all these great bands you're into. I work at the Wexner Center for the Arts and we get a lot of these bands as part of our Next@Wex series. Even though I work there, though, I rely on your recommendations for which ones are worth my time.
Thank you for the podcast and please, please, please keep going.
Okay?
Jeff

PS:
- Yeah, Dean's 50 state strategy was key!
- "Dance Music?" -- hilarious;
- Thanks for ruining Taco Bell for me (or, rather, thanks for letting me know why the only vegetarian-friendly fast food restaurant is just as bad as the rest of them);
- Yay for local, grass-fed beef (if you're going to eat meat...)
- Werner Herzog -- I had no idea he had something new. Thanks. I'm a big fan of his work;
- Cut Off Your Hands reminds me a bit of Eggstone -- relentlessly poppy. I liked it;
- "Barry Gibb, Stomp, Blue Man Group, and Cirque du Soleil -- it's like a Rorschach test." Best quote ever. I'm making a t-shirt;
- OMG -- DO NOT SHUT DOWN! Semi irregular is better than nothing. We all have lives.... Please don't go.
Will, your work as editorial director for this podcast is great. You bring the most interesting things you've read into the realm of critical discussion. Awesome.
If you ever get to the point where you're seriously considering ending the podcast based on listener numbers or enthusiasm, please ask your listeners to weigh in, and allow at least a month for feedback. In fact, I'd like to issue a challenge to all listeners to email or comment to show support. Mention it on the next podcast and I bet you'll be surprised by how many fans are out there.
